The Department of Health is the governing body. At any time, for any reason (usually when there is a legionella outbreak in your area), the DOH can demand that your cooling system be:
- Tested for Bacteria
- Tested for Legionella
All at a moments notice, giving you 24 hours or less to comply. They can require and request any documentation from anytime. Your facility can be fined and shutdown if you fail to comply. Your company can also be considered a nuisance to your neighbors and other facilities in your area. Your facility can be “blacklisted” and be inspected more frequently and harshly due to initial non compliance.
